The Clean Slate

The story begins with the site preparation. The existing lawn has been cleared, and the heavy machinery has already begun grading the slope. You can see the initial concrete pad for the fireplace has been poured, sitting high above the original grade to account for the leveling that follows.

Setting the Foundation

The skeleton of the project starts to appear. The retaining wall is being stacked to manage the backyard's elevation change, creating a level "bowl" for the patio. A massive amount of crushed stone base has been brought in and compacted to ensure the future pavers don't shift.

Vertical Construction

With the ground leveled, the focus shifts to the focal point: the outdoor fireplace. The core structure is up, featuring wood storage boxes on either side. In the foreground, you can see orange spray paint markings on the gravel, outlining the exact geometry of the circular patio and the central fire pit.

The Grand Finale: Day View

The "After" shots show the project in its full glory.

The Patio: The circular pavers are perfectly laid, accented by a darker border.
The Stone Path: A beautiful flagstone walkway leads guests down into the space.
Landscaping: River rock and mulch beds have been filled, and privacy-enhancing Arborvitae and decorative shrubs have been planted.

Twilight Ambience

The story ends with the project’s first night. The integrated hardscape lighting brings the space to life, highlighting the texture of the stone and the path. It transforms the backyard from a construction zone into a high-end retreat.
